Art Teacher, Mrs. Merker
Elita Merker, originally from the quaint town of Wautoma, Wisconsin, embodies the state’s spirit with her passion for cheese and unwavering support for the Green Bay Packers. A graduate of Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin, she earned a degree in K-12 Lutheran Art Education and has been igniting creativity in her students at Calvary Lutheran since 2015.
In July 2022, Elita married her husband, John, and in 2024, they joyfully welcomed their first child, a precious daughter, into their vibrant family. Alongside their two beloved cats, Lottie and Milo, they share a lively home filled with music, sports, and adventure. Elita and John love attending concerts, cheering for KU basketball, and immersing themselves in Kansas City’s dynamic culture, from First Fridays in the West Bottoms to exploring local boutiques. Elita’s artistic flair shines through her watercolor painting, singing, and thoughtful home decorating. Her playful side comes alive with her love for ice cream and a charming fascination with sloths, adding a delightful spark to her personality.
