Middle School Math, Mrs. Van
Candi Van Volkenburgh, a proud Kansas City, Missouri, native, graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She joined Calvary Lutheran School in 1991 and has faithfully served generations of students with a passion for learning and a heart for Christian education.
In May 2026, Candi retired after many years as Calvary’s beloved sixth grade teacher and Athletic Director. We are thrilled that she continues to be part of the Calvary family, serving part-time as our Middle School Math teacher and sharing her experience, wisdom, and love of teaching with our students.
Candi and her husband, Randy, have been happily married for almost 35 years. Together they have three sons and two wonderful daughters-in-law. Outside the classroom, Candi enjoys reading, traveling, camping, hiking, and climbing. She is also an enthusiastic sports fan who proudly cheers on the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and, of course, her beloved Warriors.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
