Principal, Mr. Mattlin

Tyler Mattlin, a proud native of Odessa, Missouri, discovered his passion for education at St. Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia, Missouri. There, immersed in a Christ-centered Lutheran environment, his teachers inspired him to pursue a career in Lutheran education. Following high school, Tyler attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Lutheran Teacher Diploma.

Straight out of college, Tyler answered his first Call to teach middle school social studies at a Lutheran school in Anaheim, California. During his time there, he furthered his expertise by completing a Master’s Degree in School Administration. In 2021, he accepted a Call to serve as principal at Immanuel Lutheran School in Higginsville, Missouri, before joining Calvary Lutheran in July 2024 as its principal.

Tyler met his wife, Elizabeth, while attending Concordia University. The couple married in July 2018 and share their home with a dog and two cats. In his free time, Tyler enjoys hitting the golf course, diving into a good book, watching movies, and cheering on his favorite teams—the Mizzou Tigers, Kansas City Royals, and, yes, the Denver Broncos (a quirk his Calvary community embraces with a smile).

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
